Is there a difference in the picture with a cable box versus just the wall outlet?

I got a new TV and was wondering if the picture is better if I go get a cable box versus the cable running from the wall.

Answer:
yes for the most part... it does depend on the cable system i do know that comcast the lower channels 2 4 5 7 are much clearer threw a digital box vs comeing out of the wall as just a basic analog signal
What kind of tv is it?
High def? get a digital or high def box.
Outdated analog tv, just use your wall outlet.
