Hmm, FD Trinitron eh? Does it have the correspondence HD on it? If not, it may be a Standard Definition Tv set...if so, use the component cables, but set your PS3 for 480 instead of 1080.
I t will work purely fine with your T.V. My son have a 27" tube style T.V and it worked with the composite cable that the PS3 came next to. Just don't expect a difference in the video power between the PS2 and the PS3 . Though there is a slight difference, it isn't as much as you may dream up. My son finally talked me into a H.D L.C.D T.V. Huge difference.
NOTE: This part gets really HOT, label sure that you keep it within a open nouns with nil around it, Don't put it into a entertainment center either. It will overheat incredibly quickly.
yeah it will work, engender sure you get the component video cable (the red, blue and green cables) which will connect to your "y, pb and pr" inputs. You might have to purchase them separately tho.
