Does a plasma TV contain Gas? And if so what kind?

A friend of mine is buying one ,but was concerned. Is there any truth to this?

Answer:
It's normally HeNeAg derivatives..

What does it matter? It won't kill you.

AND NO..You can't Re-Gas a Plasma set.I don't know who came up with that line of Bull Crap, but it's spread around and seems to come from a bunch of Salesmen..
There are non-harmful gases contained in each pixel, and somehow the plasma TV excites them so you can see the picture. You don't need to worry about any poisoning.
There is a harmless Phosphorous gas inside some little round shaped bubbles just behind the outside of the screen. It takes more energy to operate plasma TVs because of the power required to excite or energize those phosphorous bubbles to produce the picture. Sony got out of the Plasma technology a while back, because they saw the future was in the LCD technology. DLP has too many things showing up already, so if you haven't bought yet, strongly consider LCD, either Panasonic or Sony.
