DIRECTV? Activation?

They didn't activate it when they installed it?! Or you put it in yourself? As long as you have an access card all you need to do is write down the access card number(the one above the barcode) the Receiver ID number aka RID(Can be found on the back of the receiver or in the system information screen through the menus) the serial number(found same place as RID number) and the model and manufacturer which is with the RID and SN...then call 1-800-directv and they can activate your receiver(s).Some people from the billing dept think you have to have a phone line connected, but you only need that if you have a Tivo dvr...if you have any other receiver you'll only need a phone line connected if you want to order payperviews with your remote(You can order payperviews from directv.com with no extra charge and don't need a phone line)
1. connect receiver to an active phone line
2. call directv
3. once u tell em wat u want they'll send da programming
4. enjoy your channels
