Problem with 2003 Sony Tinitron 32'' Television?
Answer:
Check carefully if there is no leaky diodes and/or capacitors in the power supply module. Check low - value resistors (0.1 and 0.47Ohm). These problem may cause the new IC to overheat and be destroyed within hours of operation. This is very common problem. Unit is dead and there are no blinks---Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse, R607, Q601, IC601, R612 and VDR601 (should show open)
Sounds like it might be needing a new LOPT (Line OutPut Transformer). It produces the high voltage needed and if there are problems, it closes down most of the power supplies in the TV, giving symptoms just like you describe.
If you are lucky, it might just be a dry joint.
I'm sorry, but it is going to need to be professionally repaired, Probably $100-150.
Sorry it's not good news.
