Is it worth fixing this 32" Sony TV.?

There is no sound and the screen is black. The standby LED is blinking when i turn the TV on.

Answer:
Depend how old is your TV, If it's more than 5, time for new one. About the LED blinking it's a self diagnostic to help to indicate witch section having problem. If you want to fix it you need to count how many blinks and than inform this to the the tech that you call.
Most newer tv's have an in line fuse inside the set. Yes it might be worth fixing. If it is the fuse the cost for the part is around $5. Call around to find a repair shopthat will give you either a low cost estimate or free estimate before making a repair. The labor naturally will be extra.
Sony generally makes good products...i'd get it fixed (by a reputable co)
who fixes TV's these days if you found some one who did you would come out better buying a new one
Have it estimated first by a repair shop or by a technician, if the cost of repair is much enough the cost of buying a new one...discard it. But if the cost is minimal why not hv it fixed, even it is an old model or whatever brand it is, the small cost of repair still worth the entertainment you get while watching that TV.and I guess it's 85% the fault is not that much..'hope it helps.
Get an estimate. Ask yourself if you would spend this much on buying back an old TV? It's probably not worth it.
I'm actually in the same situation. My 32" Sony TV (circa 93) did the exact same thing but eventually died on me. I can't even switch it on anymore. I heard about replacing a fuse. Does anyone know if this can easily be done at home? What did you end up doing with yours? I'm just about ready to toss it out!
