LCD TVs question?
Answer:
there are a number of factors as to why reg. channels don't look as good on a HDTV. However, two big reasons are: 1. newer digital HDTV's are designed to bring out the best that a video signal has to offer, eg. colour, resolution, etc...while the older analog CRT tv's won' t. Therefore, having a good quality clean video source like digital/HD programming will allow an HD tv to show the best picture. Which leads to the second reason-the source. 2. the source program that you pump into your tv will determine the quality of the picture on your tv. Regular cable channels are usually analog signals, which is a 'dirty' signal; while a DVD or HD cable is a digital signal, which is a 'clean' signal.
So, because a HD tv 'amplifies' everything a signal has to offer, it will also amplify the video noise that accompanies regular analog cablevision. Therefore, it is very important to input a good, clean digital source into your new HD tv. Digital sources include: DVD's, HDTV programs, Blu-ray dvd's, HD-dvd's, digital cameras/camcorders, computers, among some. For your information, in the U.S., there is legislation to convert cablevision channels for NTSC analog, to all digital by Feb. 2009.
Yes, we all facing the same problem. The reason because the ordinary channel don't give enough resolution. Only HD can give good resolution. For DVD player try to find the one with upscale converter, so it can convert your DVD picture resolution. But in some country the ordinary channel will extinct soon, they will move on to digital broadcast.
