Tv reception?
Answers: It probably money that the center electrical contact on the TV's antenna in jack is worn or sprung outward.
One entity you could try is to take a duet of needle feeler pliers and bend a little squiggle contained by the wire that sticks out of the manly side of the connector. While your at it, make sure the lead sticks out and is not bent over.
This center wire desires to make biddable contact with the center electrical contact that is to say inside the antenna in jack.

On two different antennas?
Always and beside no exceptions , if a paper clip give better reception than an external antenna there is individual one possible answer ! Your Antenna is faulty and that includes the organize that plugs into the antenna socket on the Tv

Yep even on two diff antennas if the fly lead is not working that you are using to plug from ant wall socket to Tv ant socet ! Otherwise it would mean that the TV is malfunctioning ! very unlikely if it works better on poorer airborne ! ( paper clip ).
