What tv will give me better picture a LCD or DLP?

Also what one last longer in the long run?

Answer:
For a longer lasting tv... go with the LCD
That is easy! DLP's have that stupid light engine that will burn out and be very expensive to replace. They also have a much worse viewing angle than an LCD tv (assuming you are not talking about an LCD PROJECTION tv...those are just as bad as the DLPs)

The best tvs currently are the plasmas still for the really large sets (50+ inches). They currently are supposed to last 60,000+ hours which is about 25 years of use. You'll probably throw away the tv before you get all of the use out of it. LCDs are also good. They have higher resolutions than plasma's generally so they are better if you want to use the tv are a computer monitor too and could display more precise HD images. The problems with LCDs is their relatively low response time. Most plasmas are at 1-2ms response time whereas LCDs are at 6-12ms response time sometimes resulting in images shadowing across the tv screen.
