The TV can be fixed, but it's probably cheaper to of late buy a new one.

Basically what happen was adjectives the little lights in your TV (there are 3 color guns: red, green, and blue which control the colors on your tv) and they own been pulled by the magnet, so they are adjectives out of whack.
A TV repairman can re-align these, but it's not cheap. Sometimes they can't even fix it.

Magnets should not have done irredeemable damage to the TV. I repugnance to say this but I assume your son has put something else besides the magnet fundamental the TV. I hope not for his sake. But be gentle near him as we all start experimenting surrounded by life somewhere. I used to slash electronics my mom gave me apart until I widely read how to put them back together. I wonder if your son dropped a coin within the back of the TV resembling mine did when he put coins in the VCR vent holes.
