What's Plasma technology ?

Answer:
Plasma technology differs from other display systems in as much as here in each pixel a source of light is produced. Between the flat glass panels loaded electrodes cause tiny explosions of xenon gas, which cause an ultraviolet light radiation, which for its part produces red, green and blue phosphorus light at the screen back.

Contrary to the conventional cathode ray tubes, with which a picture is divided into a rapid succession by pixels on the screen, all plasma display pixels become at the same time "illuminate". Therefore the plasma picture develops spontaneously and is extremely sharp. It extends evenly into all corners of the screen - whole without distortion or flares.
Astonishing colors

The plasma technology ensures a brilliant, sharp image quality of unbelievable clarity by 256 gray tones and altogether 16.7 million colors.
Owing to the fact that in the case of the plasma display brightness, color and contrast of each individual screen pixel are stopped, it does not develop brightness differences between the center of the screen and the boundary regions. In addition the square pixels provide for an absolutely precise image replication, freely from the distortions which one at the edges of cathode ray tubes you have to consider with.
160-Grad viewing angle

Flat plasma panels offer opposite shining crystal displays (LCD) and screens with rear-projection a substantial advantage, if as the phosphorus-coated screen surface and the picture is stimulated directly is not projected on it.
Therefore the plasma technology can obtain an unusually broad viewing angle - both in vertical and in horizontal direction. This makes a clearer view for a larger spectator number possible on the screen.
No magnetic disturbances

Differently than cathode ray tubes plasma displays do not shoot electrons at the screen and therefore also by the proximity of magnetic fields are not disturbed. That means that plasma panels can be set up problem-free in the proximity of loudspeakers or other strong magnetic sources, without thereby picture distortions or disturbances in the color equilibrium are caused.
Multimedia flexibility

Plasma displays support variety of sceen sizes and work both with Pal and with NTSC video format. Many plasma support additionally also SECAM and HDTV. All displays support multimedia-applications and offer a RS232-Terminal, so that the user can switch problem-free between input signals from different sources. Multi lnput terminals permit even the announcement of divided pictures* on only one plasma display.
