I am looking to buy a 46 or 47 inch HDTV. Any suggestion which one to turn for ?

a. LCD or Plasma ?
b. ? brand

Answers:    A very suitable question, however the most suitable choice will purely depend on what you will be using the TV for. The sizes you've tabled are only available surrounded by LCD Panels.

This may help you settle on between the two:
The Plasma Technology has be recognised for it's depth, clarity and colours. Because the technology is instantenous there is no motion trail (Blurring) which make it ideal for watching sports and speedily action movies. Also they make exceptionally well within dark environments. They can work out to be a fraction cheaper than a comparable sized LCD. Plasma are injudicious for intensive gaming use, as they tend to use up the resources a lot faster, which can organize to loss of brightness down the line
Now LCD TV's use a power-driven technology, which can obviously explanation a short delay surrounded by picture transmission, hence the foundation some people experience blurring. They've immediately introduced 100Hz processors on LCD's to help wipe out flicker and they also state the response time. The Lower the response time the better, but on a large sized panel, something around 5milliseconds will be tolerable. LCD's work well within brightly lit environments and are excellent for watching soaps, documentaries etc. Most of them can be used as PC Montiors also. They're very well-mannered for games consoles and work well at reproducing grapical similes

Many people proposition opinions base on their own requirements or preferences, but you should base your choice on what you will be using it for

As for a reputable brand, it's difficult to vote, because it's wiser to base your result on the specifications and features of a paticular TV. Pioneer have excelled within the Plasma industry and Samsung seem to be topping the popularity chart second year running contained by the LCD industry, but Sony and Panasonic are not far behind, near LG and Toshiba surprisingly do well too.

I know it does'nt make available you a direct answer to your question, however it might be a correct idea to explain your requirements to an expert. You don't neccessarily, requirement to go into a store, but you can even Chat to TV Specialist online next to Comet.
Just go to www.comet.co.uk, afterwards go to the TV wedge and click the Chat button. I used it when buying my TV and they we're really helpful and I also learn a lot
Try the Sony Bravia KDL-46X3500 (LCD) See association below:
