Is it past the worst to connect my computer to my backside projection tv via DVI?
Answers: Since it is a rear projection, yes it can burn contained by if you leave it on hours on downfall.
Check what is the highest resolution your TV can feel and do not exceed it (it won't break it, it will most likely purely say NO SIGNAL or EXCEEDED RANGE...but better risk-free than sorry).
Absolutely!

Shouldn't be a problem.
Yes, static metaphors will be a problem for any TV, but we're talking after hundreds of consecutive hours. Just a few hours here and near, interspersed with regular TV viewing shouldn't be a problem.
Yes you do enjoy to worry going on for STATIC images resembling Email and Internet boxes....
They will burn an image of the box into your blind. YES the Box is a STATIC image.....
So surrounded by reality....it's not sheltered at all to use a CRT or Plasma for computer displays. Do you really want to find out the HARD road? That's $900 of CRTs you're betting against.
