Broken TV?!?
Its a Goodmans GTV34R3DVD but the warannty ran out although we did contact them but they said they would ring back but never did on purpose I guess.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Answer:
Try to narrow down the problem.
Does it work when you connect a VCR or DVD?
This could point to a tuner fault.
How did the problem come about? Was it a slow progression or suddenly the fault appeared?
You say sometimes it works have you checked for anything obvious such as loose wiring (dry joints?)
If you don't know what you're doing don't take the back off your TV it can hold lethal charges even when switched off.
Get a new one
If you do plan to fix it read, (http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/tvfaq.htm). Yes it is a long page about troubleshooting and repairing televisions. However, if you do not want to fix it yourself, look on-line (http://www.yellowpages.com/) and search there. There, you should be able to find a place to fix your television, for a fee of course.
However, I suggest that you do, get a new television since the repair costs could be near the amount of the brand new t.v.
