I'm having a problem with my tv. Is it on its way out?

I have a 7 year-old "regular" tv. Lately when it's on, it changes from black-and-white to color and vice versa. The volume also goes in and out and is "choppy" sometimes. I have satellite tv and I don't seem to have that problem with the other TV's. Is this TV on its way out?
I'll be moving in about a month and I'm just wondering if it would be worth moving to my new place or just junking it and saving me a trip.

Answer:
i had the same problem with mine (the black and white vs. color) and the tv repair man said it may be fixed but is not worth it. so.it is your call after all.
