New T.V. Which one please insist on.?

I want a flat screen TV. Currently I hold a Sky+ box and a DVD player. If I get an HD box, do I hold to get rid of the Sky+ or are they separate machines. Only knowledgable answers please. This is confusing ample for me. Thanks in finance.

Answers:    To get Sky HD, you'll inevitability a Sky HD Box (priced lb299), to pay the monthly HD subscription of lb10, and to own an HD-Ready TV set. More at www.sky.com
If you are looking for news on untried channels or programming coming to Sky, step to sky.com/hd/news.htm
Sky HD comes with full Sky+ functionality. Store and play backbone hours of entertainment without video or DVDs. Record two different channels at matching time. Put live TV on 'pause' - while you answer the door or make a cuppa - later come back to it latter. Plus you can store up to 30 hours of HD programmes or up to 80 hours of Standard Definition programmes - that's up to double the amount of storage than a current Sky+ box.
I dont have any well-versed answer for this.
