Why don't I receive adjectives the channel on my VCR.?

Since the coaxial cable port broke off the rear legs of my TV, I am using a VCR. I have the VCR connect to the TV next to audio and video cords and I have the coaxial cable connect to the VCR. But, for some idea I only win about 20 channel out of the usual 70 or so channels. What could be the problem?

Answers:    The tuner on your VCR is any set to Antenna not Cable, or it didn't complete a channel scan to find adjectives of the channels. If you press the menu button on your VCR within should be an option for Setup or Tuner or similar. Go into here and make sure it is set up for CATV and after in one and the same menu, it should have an preference to Auto Program channels.
Perhaps your VCR is not set to the cable mode. If it's set to the UHF/VHF mode, you won't bring back the upper channels.
