Is A 720p Set That Bad?
Answers: I newly bought a 720P HDTV. I can't believe how incredible life-like the images are on HDTV broadcasts!
Sure, 1080i and 1080P will look even better on a TV designed to show those formats. But preserve this in mind: Currently at hand are almost NO HDTV shows being broadcast surrounded by anything but 720P. There isn't enough of a consumer flea market to warrant the added cost of upgrading all their equipment to the complex resolutions. So your 720p Sony is showing you pretty much the best possible picture available today.
It's likely that when you're prepared for your next purchase, within will be much more 1080 stuff around; whether it's 1080i or 1080p will be determined by economics. But by then most HDTV's will probably be able of any HD format fed into them.
No its, not tha unpromising.
The main tradeoff between the two is that 1080i shows more detail than 720p for a stationary shot of a subject at the expense of a lower effectual refresh rate and the introduction of interlace artifacts during motion.
While 1080i have more scan lines than 720p, they do not translate directly into greater vertical resolution.
