Can't get all cable channels to display on older TV?

hooked an older TV to cable and can view channels 3 through 36 then only will accept 96, 97,98,99. why can't I get 37-95 when entered?

Answer:
I have the same problem with an old 13" toshiba TV. I had to use the VCR hooked up to it as a tuner to get the missing channels. I guess when my TV was made they didn't have those channels planned.
You should also get Ch 2, but in any case, that TV has the older type of tuning circuits, it doesn't have pre-assigned intermediate frequencies for most of the upper cable channels. The only thing you can do is to use a box of some sort that is capable of tuning all the cable channel frequencies, like a cable box, or a VCR, etc. will work fine.
