What button do i have to push on my tv or cable remote so i can play a dvd?

the dvd player is separate from the tv...does the tv need to be on a certain channel?

Answer:
push the source button on your TV remote or sometimes its called TV/video sometimes you need to turn the channel on your TV below ch 2 until you see aux or line 1 or video displayed make sure the power to the DVD is turned on when you do this so you see the DVD display page when you hit the right screen
the auxuliary channel, or sometimes its channel 3
it need to be either on channel 3 but more then likely a video mode like i belive there is 4 vidoes modes so try 1-4 till u have the correct one you can access that by either the menu or should say video something somewhere on your tv or remote
