I had an RCA near the same problem and have it fixed. One of the circuit boards, I believe the tuner card, overheats and loses continuity. I think the fix cost roughly speaking $150. Anyways, about 1 1/2 years following it happened again. I have enough and replaced it. If your tv is not that matured, take it stern to where you bought it. If it is beyond the warranty, sorry, it isn't a problem you can fix yoourself.
It could be that the tv only needs to be reset, freshly unplug it overnight and plug it back surrounded by the next time. It may turn on again. Good luck.
