Hitachi rear projection problem.?
Answer:
Well, here's the guy that suggested the heater! Worse yet, your info on Question #3 didn't have anything EXCEPT the "What is the value of the heater resistor"
And to think...3 different questions, and only 1 person asking.
OK, guess what..your INFO on this question.that WHILE watching it.it got darker...darker..darker. it may slowly get lighter lighter.and lighter..
THAT IS THE HEATER RESISTOR!! Or the solder on the heater is cracked !!
That's also why I will ask some of my customers the same question 3 different times.you get 3 variations of the information, and like a puzzle you put ALL the pieces together and Voila.a WHOLE picture of the problem!
Aren't you glad I visited this question LAST?
NOW, I WILL GET YOU the information you need.
UNPLUG THE TV.follow the AC Cord to the board attached. That's your power supply.look for T902 transformer.NOW look for a yellow or green or maybe black resistor sized thing LABLED E904..that's the HEATER FUSE and is a 5 amp microfuse. NEXT find D920 real close to E 904.that's your HEATER RECTIFIER.the side with the Band/White mark is the measuring side.you should have 6-12 Volts there..NOW LOOK for the part that is likely your FAILURE.and thats I 908 which should look like it has 3 legs sticking out of it.(I is eye, not L).
That unit should have (guessing) 8 volts into it, and a rock solid 6 volts output..one leg is grounded at zero volts.KEEP an eye on the 6 Volt side..as that can vary from 6 volts down to 2 volts !! And THAT is NOT Good ! You want 6 volts ALL THE TIME.
So replace it..The lettering on the part itself is the part number. (should be PQ6RD083)
THAT PART IS WHAT is causing your TV to go from bright to dark over a short period of time..
Guaranteed...
While your model# doesn't come up when I search at this site, this is the place to get the information you'll need to determine the problem. And they will help you. Here's an example of how it works:

Convergence amp brings all the colors together. It could very well be that. Makes sense. Have him explain it to you and have him change it out.
To converge is to bring something all together. You colors are not all together.
