LCD direction anyone?

Hello all, I'm looking to buy a LCD. I've narrowed my explore to either the 42" LG 720p or JVC 37" 1080p. Several question, is it better to go next to the smaller tv for the 1080p or will I even notice a difference? They both cost indistinguishable so price isn't a factor. I really was inquiring for a 42", but I'll go beside the 37" if there's going to be that much of a difference.

I noticed they both own processors to enhance normal tv signals. I can't afford to purchase HD programming on my satellite, so I be wondering if these processors would give me a better picture level even without an HD signal? Any support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Answers:    That's funny cause the 42" should be 1080P and the 37" 720P.

I'd read aloud 30" or below then 720P is fine and 30" and up budge with 1080P.

First adjectives of let's look at some things.

How much are these two TVs?

You can get HD programming for free beside an antenna. This is digital broadcasting not analog. So you should be able to use the antenna you enjoy been using but might want to consider a better antenna to acquire more channels check http://www.titantv.com to see what adjectives high def programing you will find over an antenna. It should also be noted with digital TV you any get the burrow or your don't and weak signals will result contained by stuttering which is annoying. You can still enjoy analog broadcasting until Feb, 17th 2009.
With digital you can wallow in High Def and 5.1 on programs that support it and if you have a surround speaker setup. Programs are any in 480i,480p (both standard def),720p,1080i or 1080p (high def of course) and any stereo or Dolby stereo or Dolby digital 5.1 and are either shown within 4:3(square), 4:3 letterbox (wide screen within a square box because it's not enhanced for a 16:9 screen) or 16:9 wide blind (which should fill the peak but some wide eyeshade is wider than your TV and will have small black bar on the top and bottom).

Over the air High Def broadcasts contained by 720p and 1080i and I think some is starting 1080p. I mull over most is in 720p and the rest is within 1080i with some 1080p. I dunno if 1080p is available over the atmosphere or through cable yet? I know 1080p is on the unmarked high def formats in good health I've seen it on Blue-Ray and video winter sport systems.

Anything higher on a 720p TV will be downgraded to 720p.

People who own a standard def TV can still relish TV after the analog shut off on 2-17-09 but will any have to achieve a new SD-TV next to digital tuner built in or buy a set top box for nearby old TV which downgrades everything to 480i or 480p if they own an ED-TV (Enhanced Def) but most programing will be communiqu¨¦ boxed on a 4:3 TV since broadcasting is pushing toward wide peak and high def is booming and HDTV prices are dropping.

HD Televisions are yawning screen and not adjectives programming is so anything that is 4:3 (square) will hold black bars on the departed and right of the screen.

Also not adjectives wide eyeshade movies will fill the total top and bottom of the screen. Some movies are wider than others and will enjoy small black bars on the top and bottom.

If you own any elder DVDs that aren't enhanced for wide eyeshade TVs or anamorphic enhanced then it's memorandum boxed which is in 4:3 beside black bars encoded on the top and bottom similar to the True Lies DVD and will not be properly formatted on a wide blind TV and be in a skylight with black borders because it is not anamorphic enhanced. You will also thought this on some TV ads and some TV programs close to Star Gate: Atlantis.

If you bought any full screen DVDs you will own to buy the wide eyeshade DVD to enjoy them. Since at hand not full screen at hand fool screen because they chop the sides and top and bottom and zoom within the image to fit on a 4:3 TV.

All these play a factor within screen size.

You also may want to consider an up-converting DVD player beside hdmi cable to enjoy your DVDs to the fullest.

So bigger eyeshade less res.....Or smaller peak more res....

Well how far will the television be from you? I tight 1080p far away on a 37" well should still look appropriate. However 42" is pretty big but at 720p. I think you should shop around more.
Get a bigger 1080p or a smaller 720p tube.
