Help! the sound isn't working on my TV?

Last night, out of nowhere, the sound on my TV turned into static. I still have picture, but the sound is static. I looked at all the wires coneected to the TV and VCRs and nothing is loose.

Here's what makes it complicated, I still have perfect sound on the low channels (2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13), BUT it is stuck on SAP. Last night, the Simpsons were narrated by a female voice ("Homer went up the stairs"). In addition to this, I discovered I don't have any sound on any channels when I turn on the VCR. If the VCR is off and I'm directly using the TV, then I get partial sound.

I hope that's not too confusing. Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this? It's so odd. My dad, who would generally be able to fix it, is stumped as well. Help! Is there any solution?

If you know what the problem is, or you need more info, you can email me at kannd86@optonline.net. Thanks!

Answer:
I presume that the "mute" feature is "un-muted".

Otherwise, I can't help without being "hands-on".
