Can I buy an updated freeview/digital tv card for phillips tv?

My father has a phillips tv which has a slot for the digital freeview tv card. Does anyone know if I can buy an upgrade to this card only at moment it can only find 6 channels despite doing a search. Thank you in advance

If you can only find 6 channels then you may have a problem with your TV reception, wiring, or TV set.

Without any card being purchased, you should get all these channels and radio stations.

You only need a card to get the following channels, which would cost around £8 a month.

However the company that offered this now only lets you use it in a set top box, which costs £130 + £10 monthly, and lets you record things (much like a Sky+ device). This means there is no need for the card slot on the back of your TV to even exist anymore (for the UK anyway).

I would advise you to get your TV / Aerial and Wiring checked out if you only recieve 6 freeview channels. You may also want to check your postcode is in a Freeview area by going to http://www.freeview.co.uk/home
