My tv has a string going across the middle and have nouns. a week and a half ago same point, then ending weekend it was fine, but with the sole purpose lasted 4 days. Is it my cable box or my tv. TV is one and only 6 years old.

Its your tv that have the problem. Its called vertical collapse. The picture is at hand but its collapse in a small column, usually a chip and capacitor is whats needed to be replaced.
Just get that replaced by a TV Repair place and it will be virtuous as new.
