i got component input (480i) and i want to know if within a big differenc in ps3 games contained by 480i and 1080p >>>>and if there is a big differenc between 480i component and the common cable that comes with PS3

Answers:    Yes, there's a big difference, provided your monitor is competent of 1080i (not that many are). 1080i have more than twice the resolution of 480i. I don't know what the "normal cable" that comes beside a PS3 is. Component will handle 1080i smoothly. As will DVI or HDMI.
480i - 480 lines interlaced scan - lowest TV resolution as in regular TV

1080p - 1080 lines progressive scan - upmost HDTV resolution as in lovely picture compared to 480i

Component Video (up to 1080p) is much better than the regular cable that comes with the PS3 which is a Composite Video Cable (limited to 480i).
480i is a have 480 vertical lines the 'i' means interlased. Meaning one and only every other line is scan. 'p' is for progressive meaning the entire peak is scanned.

1080p have 1080 verticale lines. So the image resolution is 1920x1080. which is much greater then 640x480

within are 5 popular reolutions 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p.

Basically, yes there is a huge difference between 1080p and 480i. 1080p is a much much greater quality sign.

No, the cables that come with your PS3 are not controlled to 480i.

You can use the cables that come with your PS3 to accomplish 1080p if your TV is compadible with it. Though you would achieve a high aspect image beside RGB Component or HDMI. Though it probably wouldn't be noticeable unless it be side-by-side.

***I correct myself the cables that come with the playstation 3 enjoy enough bandwidth to transport a 1080p picture but the Playstation 3 will not allow more then 480i unless at hand is a HDMI or Component cable plugged into it.
600 more lines of video resolution....MORE DETAIL in a picture.

It's close to the difference in a 1 Megapixel camera and a 7 Megapixel camera.....that 7 Megapixel camera will show closely more detail and render a clearer, cleaner, more realistic picture....

You SHOULD be using your COMPONENT cable at the extraordinarily least if you own an HDTV set.....and the HDMI UPGRADE is worth every penny invested....
