How long does the average CRT TV last?

Answer:
The typical lifetime of a CRT TV (measured by the time at which half of the TV's will have failed) is from 20,000 to 60,000 hours, depending on the manufacturer. 20,000 hours is like 9 years of being on for 6 hours a day.

In comparison, present LCD and plasma TV's tend to be around the high end of that range (50,000 to 60,000 hours).

Basic reliability is just not that much of an issue any more for TV's.
it depends on how you use it but i think its more than 100000 hours.
It depends on many many things. Assuming that all of the tvs that are produced are exactly the same, you have to worry about moisture, heat, correct voltage, how long the tv is on each time. how the tv has been handled when its moved, even what colors/ signals are sent to the tv! The crt tubes have a phospor coating that gradually darkens and turns opaque as electrons are bombarded on it for years. In short, about 10-15 years average for a sony or mitsubishi
Walmart product tubes CAN last up TO 5 years.

A good quality unit usually lasts 8-12+
