My 42" big screen totally went out.?

i just bought a big screen around christmas time... it was used but it's HD so it can't be that old... it's a samsung... after a few months it started to flicker and the colors green and red would blur it a bit... but it would go away after a few minutes of watching the tv. until one day it just turned off... we tried turning it back on and after hitting the power button several times you could smell it burning inside... what happened and how much will it be to fix it?? can i fix it myself??

Answer:
Have you ever repair a TV before?
what type is it?
Plasma, LCD or projection?
I suggest you call Samsung service center and ask them to come and take a look.
About something that burn inside it can be anything, from resistor to the bulb.
You cant fix it yourself. NEVER BUY USED!!! It would probably cost a small fortune to fix it. Is it plasma, or lcd, or dlp? If it is a DLP or RPLCD, you may just need a new bulb (maybe $300). Otherwise, it sounds dire. NEVER BUY USED ELECTRONICS!
it could have blown a tube or a bulb (something similar happend to our 52" tv)

if it is only a few months old it should be under warranty and most likely ... no charge for repairs. If you fix it yourself, you may void the warraty so i would avoid that option.

Contact the manufacturer

(sorry i missed the 'used' part) - contact the Mnfr anyway, you may get lucky
Sucks for You hahahahahahaha
You cannot fix it yourself. Everything is IC's What is the warranty on the set? How did you buy it. A lot of credit cards double your warranty up to one additional year. You might also try Samsung direct and see what they ccould do. If it is new enough it may have a service connection on it. If it does you can put your phone line in on the set and Samsung can call the set and diagnos it for you.
Buying a Samsung = dead end junk

We get these TVs in by the LOAD for repair.

What we find out is that most of these samsungs go out and are designed to break after warranty. And if its not under warranty, the samsung parts are 90% no longer available.

Buy and Sony.
