Why are there programes guide problems on Freeview?
We have two versions of the ITV channels, one version has the details, the others don't. We have a channel listing mag, but sometimes while flicking through, it's nice to see what is on.
Answer:
The problem is to do with the EPG writing systems used (electronic programming guide) - i take it your in the UK as it only seems to happen here!
There is noway for you to correct it as it is a problem with the external company that owns the EPG. There are a number of companies looking to buy them out at the moment and put things right but having problems!
Sorry but its an annoying problem your gona have to put up with for the time being
if you have two itv's it means that you have two transmitters in your area that produce Digital multiplexes, when the box searches for channels on the initial setup, it will pick up both lots of carriers, giving you two channels (or more) of the same programe.
away around this is to find out what is your main transmitter, and what group it is.
our UHF band starts from 21 - 69, when the box starts to tune,it searches between these numbers, if yours is a (group A) transmitter, it will find stations at the begining of the search.
if its A (wideband transmitter) it will find them from the middle or end of the search.
you need to unplug your aerial from the box when tunning, once it is passed the point of the first transmitter you are after! it would be nice to know the area which you live, then i could tell you what group your transmitter is.
pulling the aerial out, wont do any harm to your channels that have already been found, it will store them automatically.
ring a local aerial guy, and he can explain on the phone.
or contact digital uk web site.
because of the signal, it just appears so slow, once the signale have been boosted they will be fine, we just have to suffer for up to 3 years.lol
