Is it my cable or new Samsung 50" plasma that is causing slight and intermitent brightness adjustments.?

Our new plasma tv has slight fluctuations in the brightness level periodically (usually or at least more noticeable in brighter scenes). I've tried comparing the cable with DVD and they both seem to do it to some degree (cable is far more noticable). The odd thing is on the DVD I can rewind and see it happen in the exact same place every time. When I go frame by frame, the change in brightness never appears to happen. Nor does the letterboxing seem to have any change in brightness ever (except on cable). We're on our second try on this model (had a loud fan issue on the first one) and sometimes I wonder if I'm just being too picky as I look for everything that might be wrong with the TV. Still, the brightness changes can sometimes be distracting. I've tried switching off all the the little extra features and still see the fluctuations. Any thoughts? Am I just being too picky? Is this normal?

Answer:
Sounds like the power board isnt maintaing high voltage.

Not sure. If I were you, Id take it back and get a better quality unit. Samsung has alot of problems with their LCD & DLP Units.

Get a Sony LCD XBR 1080. Trust me, youll like it. Or if your going for plasma, try Pioneer Elite Plasma.
