How do I improve my TV reception? I have analog cable.?

I'm trying to improve the reception in my bedroom TV. My cable line begins in the living room, then splits two-ways. First line (shortest cable) goes into my living room TV and reception is fine. Second line goes into my bedroom TV via 50 foot cable, and the reception is a little snowy on a several channels. I got a Motorola BDA 100s1 to try and resolve my problem, but it seems to make my reception worse. Initially, I installed it in my living room and it made receptions to both TVs significantly worse. Then I tried installing it at the end of my 50 foot cable in the bedroom, and it made only my bedroom reception worse. I'm wondering if I got the right product or if I'm installing it incorrectly. Can someone help me out here?

Answer:
First make sure your using all RG6 wires and not RG59 that reduces signal loss and your splitter make sure it's rated at least 1000mhz or 1ghz any less and you will have signal loss same thing if you get ant kind of booster. Whenever you have long runs of cable and any splitters you will lose at least some signal strength
