Antronix-my 2-way splitter has 2 -(-3.5dB)outs.my 3-way has 2-(-7)& 1 -3.5 what cables go where ?

my 2-way splitter has 2-(-3.5) designations going out. They are connected to my cable modem & my cable box. I have 3 in 1 service cable hi- speed & digital phone. I want to add another t.v . The 3-way has 2-(-7dB) out ports & 1-(-3.5dB) outport. how should i configure. what should I attach to the (-3.5dB) ?

Answer:
I would hook the -3.5 db port to the cable modem. You don't want to cut that signal too much. If you end up with a snowy picture at the TVs, don't be surprised. Cutting the signal 7 db means you end up with less than 1/4 of the original signal strength to the TVs. If you end up needing an amplifier, make sure it is a two way amp. Otherwise, your cable modem and any interactive cable boxes may not work properly.
I think I would go to an electronics store and purchase a 4-way splitter with only 1 leg -3.5dB down. The -3.5 dB should be connected to your cable modem as most of them will not operate properly on a straight thru signal.
