Questions almost extended warranty for LCD Televisions?

I am getting ready to purchase a Samsung LNT4061F 40" LCD tube. I think I am going to purchase it from an online site call Vann's electronics. The price is great and there is no shipping or charge. My only problem is that a five year extended warranty on their site is going to cost $399.99. Where would you reccomend purchasing an extended warranty from at a cheaper cost. I found a web-site call D-TV express that says they hold a 5 year in home plan for $139. That make me skepticable but I"m not sure. I would like to purchase and extended warranty but preferrably at a price cheaper than $400 but I want a reliable reputable warranty. Please HELP!!!!!

Answers:    I never buy extended warranty, for anything.

If you buy reputable brand names (which Samsung is), the product usually comes next to a factory warranty of 1 year. The factory is covering the first year of service anyway - free. Extended warranties, surrounded by my opinion, are basically money grabs.

Yes, in attendance is the possibility the product could fail after 1 year. But, as other, you are playing the odds (so are the relations selling the warranty). I play the odds my product is correct quality and wont go amiss within 1 - 5 years. The folks selling you the extended warranty are also playing the same likelihood - they know most products don't fail between years 2-5 (1st year coverd by manufacturer). They net a lot of money knowing that most products won't go wrong.

If a person never buys extended warranty on any product, the likelihood are, (even if 1 or 2 of all your products you buy founder after 2 years of service), you will come out ahead.
Instead of paying extended warranties - put the money within the bank. Then if products go wrong, you have dosh to pay for repairs. If the products don't fall short - you have money save up towards future replacement costs. Even if you don't own the discipline to save the warranty money contained by the bank, probability are, you will still come out ahead.
Playing the odds is other a risk. But, odds are, the money you reimburse for the warranty is a waste of money too....peace of mind can be expensive....
In the extremity, it's your peace of mind... and your money...
