SKY TV - Will a new Receiver box work with my Sky card?
Q 1 - If i purchase this receiver box can i simply pop my sky viewing card into the new machine and will it work..?
( my dish and card are ok as the engineer told me so and its def the receiver thats dead )
Q 2 - Im paying 21 pounds a month for my channels and i am happy with this selection - are there any ways to get these channels cheaper / free ? Its just a pain having this standing order attached to a UK adress when im in germany now...

Your current card will work in a new digi box. One thing that you might have to do is switch of the box at the mains and insert the Skycard. Then switch the mains on while pressing the "back-up" button. This puts the box in install/download mode and will reset the digi box, download the current version of software and register your Sky card with the box. Should take no more than 10mins to complete. As for your second question, not a chance. A Skycard must be registered to a UK address.
Yeah Card will work. As far as getting it free you need to speak to an engineer and with a small but modest payment they will fix your sky box to recieve all channels . This can prove risky as it is illegal. Also you are in Germany so may be difficult. You can probably buy cards and or recievers over the internet which will allow you to get all your programs for a one off payment. Baring in mind the cards can be blocked and recievers converscated. beter phone sky and see, i know you can get uk channels abroad but weather or not it costs more i cant say.
If your card works I will be very surprised as they don't normally we have two setups and we cant change cards, we tried as I have the movie pack but my mother doesn't.
they have a special code for the card and box, to try and stop copying them.
You need to contact sky, do it on line or by phone.
