There are several things you can do.
1) You can probably find a electronics expert
that can convert a USA machine to run on
the U.K. PAL system. Something like a
computer nerd for video machines.
Of course it will cost you some money to convert
this for you in the U.K to run PAL standard films.
However, doing so will violate your warranty on this
electric piece of video/DVD equipment.
2) Get a adapter that can convert the USA wattage standard
to the U.K. wattage standard.
The downside is that you can ONLY view USA made
movies on your machine.
Is it the plug? Can you get a US/Europe adapter? They have these for travellers for things like hairdryers.
Then you just buy the thing you want, and with the adapter it works in your house.
Maybe we are talking about shipping costs. I wouldn't want to pay for something shipped overseas...if so, check sites that offer free shipping.
Yahoo has homepages for other countries, presumably the product on the Yahoo UK shopping board is a product you can use. If not, maybe some other UK specific shopping board, is there an Amazon specially for the UK?
