Sound solely coming out of one speaker on my outmoded TV?

I have an elder TV, maybe 6 years ripened, a 27 inch RCA with a built contained by VCR. For some time now nouns only comes out of one speaker. I be thinking about bringing it contained by for repairs, but I am on a very fixed budget. Someone told me it might be easy to fix myself, but i am not a handyman by any technique. Any idea if it's worth it to bring it surrounded by or do it myself? thanks

Answers:    If the set is stereo consequently the probable cause will be the audio amp chip out on one culvert , or failing that one speaker could be dead !! other things unsurprisingly but I can only formulate an educated guess .
Unfortunately some rough skills would be required to repair it your self , but it should not be an unduly expensive repair. An estimate of repair from a TV Tech would be your best course !!
Cheers Pete
If one side is okay, and the audio output is handled by an IC, I seriously doubt the IC man at fault. I would turn for headphone jack soldering broken, wiring, or a desperate speaker.

Usually, if the IC is at fault, you will own NO audio at all.

Unless you know how to solder, and work near VCRs, I would let a professional do the mission. To get at the biggest board, you will need to hold the VCR mechanism removed. This is not a lob for the inexperienced.
