Picture talent on LCD?

I have a Hannspree JT02-37E2-000G LCD TV. Overall I'm comfortable with the TV but I'm struggling to bring the picture quality as angelic as I feel it can be.

Obviously I know the agreement about watching non-HD cable channel on an HD ready LCD and how the pixels will break up on the imitation. However, what I'm having trouble near is getting the right contrast, brightness, colour, luminosity, etc settings to make the print look good.

Generally I any get the symbol looking too washed out or too large contrast. That means the colours any looks dirty or far too pingy.

Has anyone got specific suggestion for the picture settings for this TV, or possibly general guidance on how best to set up LCD screen for best image element.

P.S. I'm currently viewing my cable channels through a lofty quality SCART (that's the single output the cable box provides).

Answers:    The LCDs are only made to show a solid way tweaking beside the settings can make the statue worse. try tweaking with the cable settings.
Some are incredibly good.
