When buying a LCD hdtv what kind of spec's should it have to stay up with the ever changing world of TV's

please no people with answers that are just trying to build up points

Answer:
1080P...That's it.NO MORE INFO NEEDED

It's the ONLY technology info you need to make the WISEST choice..

Everything else is only important IF you DON'T buy 1080P

If you don't buy 1080P..you're getting 720, and that technology is OVER 4 years old.
But if you do, look for 8ms response times, and the higher lux you get, the brighter the picture..
That's already >>IN<< 1080P tv sets..
1080 p is the latest. I would make sure it has that feature at least. Brand name is better than of-brand. Off-brand are not durable.
Make sure it has HD capability.
