Connecting vcr to tv?

I was told by a Tweeter and there employes that you can splice-connect white and red (left and right audio) together and run on single conductor cable to tv then split with "y" splicer and connect to tv input (white and red...leftandright) and you have stereo again

Answer:
If you connect the red and white together that is left and right channels you will then have mono sound, that is no longer stereo ! Cheers Pete.
What is your question? Are you looking for confirmation that that is the correct procedure; or, are you looking for someone to come over and help you do it?
I would say that is incorrect..Becuase if you cross the positive along with the negitive it could cause damage to your equipment.. If this was true then they wouldnt sale the speaker wire with the plastic coating around and there wouldnt be a ground or a positive..I hope this helps
Why would you want to do that? it makes too many connections and there is more of a chance one connection will come loose.
Why don't you just get a good adapter with the right plug ends. That way you will have better audio resuts also.
Most audio on tv' s is by RCA cables. You can get extensions and plugs that are gold plated or are rf sheilded.
