TV SIGNALS-I have a japanese TV. How can I use it in NZ?

I have heard the signals/tv systems are different,- nonetheless i brought my big flat screen tv to New Zealand. One reason is that I am sure I will be able to watch DVDs on it, even if I can't watch TV on it. Is it possible to get an external tuner or something like that to convert the signal?

Answer:
You will need to buy an NTSC to PAL converter.

You will also need a separate tuner to receive broadcast signals, but you can simply use a VCR purchased in New Zealand for this purpose.
The mains supply in NZ is 240volts so you will need a step down transformer ! if you are lucky your TV will be a multi standard set if it is then as the Kiwis say " Good as gold ". Cheers Pete
