My Sharp LC26SD1E tv cannot detect my pc? help?

Hi,
Im having a bit of a problem ok from the top I have a PC, I have recently bought a Sharp LCD TV which is pc compatible and should pick up PC frequency easily, however, it keeps on saying out of range. The PC works fine because I tested it on another monitor. Also I had windows vista installed on the pc, the tv showed the pc when I had vista however the PC could not detect one of my hard drives so I switched back to XP and now my TV cannot detect the PC. What can I do to get out of this problem?

Can you help?

Nadia

Answer:
Hi Nadia,

Go to page 33 in your manual and look at the chart. See where the TV is limited and will only support a vertical frequency of 60Hz?

Now check the refresh rate the computer is set to. You'll see that it's a higher frequency. You can lower the refresh rate of the computer to 60Hz if you want to, but TVs make lousy computer monitors.
