With a budget of about $400, is it worth it to upgrade from a 26" HD tube to an HD lcd?

My current tv is a widescreen hd crt. It only has about 800 horizontal lines, which means I'm missing a lot of detail when I play xbox 360 (my main use for the set).

With my limited budget, do you think it would be worth it to buy an hd lcd? Or should I just stick with what I have?

Answer:
I agree about the price.keep the $400 and sink it into a Dolby Amp.start building your home theater with it.

For now that TV set will play your games nicely, and last for years.

Your next investment should be in a DLP or LCD..you see, right now is the FIRST year that High End DLP/LCD units are using the Solid State LAMPS!! And that is what you want to buy.
No more $250 lamps blowing up in 2 years!!
Less power consumption too.

But the technology is NEW.and it's best to give the Technology about 2 years in the customer's hands to find and work out any bugs in the new design.

So in 2009..buy that 1080P with LED/Laser lamps...at a lower price too !!
the lcd
I dont think you can get a quality/decent lcd for that price.
HD is not worth spending money right now
here's a link on ebay where you can read reviews of them by ebay members.
