LCD is a type of box capable of displaying an HD (high definiton) signal.
LCD, plasma, CRT, front & reverse projection are all types of television ... each enjoy the capability to display an HDTV broadcast.
So, within is no 'difference' between LCD and HDTV since they are two things that cannot be compared.
AND to add to the first guy:
HD is the resolution. High def comes contained by 4 formats right now, 720i/p and 1080i/p.
1280x720 or 1366x768 are both 720i/p, and 1920x1080 pixel resolution is 1080i/p
The i stands for interlaced, where on earth a image is scan on the screen 2 times, first the out of the ordinary lines display, then the even. The p stands for progressive scan, where on earth the whole damn imitation is thrown on the screen adjectives lines at a time, it looks much smoother by eliminating notched edges.
1080p is considered True HD right now, since within are really no plans on a higher resolution for the moment.
a 1440p have been contemplated, and 2160p (Quad full HD[ 4 times the pixels as full HD now] )has be discussed possibly for the future. Neither of these will imagined be seen on a mentionable amount until holographic disks are available and affordable. Those disks will have the size (up to 3 TB of space) to have a full length
2160p video.
But for in a minute, all you entail to be concerned with it 1080p is the superlative resolution, and only the Xbox 360, PS3, HD DVD, and blue gleam support it. There are a few 1080i channels, but most HD TV is 720p and it will be that agency for a few years. 720p channels look amazing on my 1080p tv, so it doesn't really business what format you go beside.
