I have an Admiral tv. It was given to me about a year ago, I'm not sure how old the tv itself is. I was not given a remote with it. The remote that came with the digital cable box works. the only problem is I can't change the input to work with my DVD player. I bought a universal remote (because I couldn't find the code list from the cable remote) to work with it, and the same thing is happening. Any ideas on what I can do so I can use my DVD player?
Answer:
Perhaps the television is not designed for the type of universal remote that you purchased, as it sounds as if that is the case. When buying a universal remote (which are NEVER always universal) you have to make sure that your device is listed on the package...or it won't work.
