T.v colour help?
Answer:
I think a tube has probably gone and you need a new telly,or if you are lucky enough to be insured call them out.
You are better off consulting your TV manufacturer because you don't know how serious this problem is.
Sounds like your red output transistor and resistor went bad, killing the red colour..about $20 in parts will resolve that problem.
Could do with more info?
Is it a Tube (CRT?) or LCD or Plasma?
Sounds like a CRT - if so you are talking about HIGH VOLTAGES - even long after it has been switched off and un-plugged (Capacitors store the charge for day's!).
It could be the driver circuit for the colour gun, (low voltage capacitor over heating and bursting??) yes a few pence in real terms, however unless you know what you are doing and have a circuit diagram - forget it - get someone in. Unless it's new'ish or really worth it, ask for a quote over the phone first.
If it any other type, LCD etc.. return or talk to where you bought it from, most have very good warranties.
Hope this helps...
