Wholesale Prices on TV's and which TV to Get LCD or Plasma?
I have been looking at best buy and the prices there I was wondering what the mark up on TV's are so I can see what our $ buget will be. Rather than hoping for a big mark and drooling over what I may not be able to have. Help please? Thanks
Answer:
I just got a 32 inch LCD and it's great. The only real difference between newer plasma and LCD is the lamp life. Plasma lamps last between 20,000 and 60,000 hours. LCDs are 60,000+ hours.
The prices of LCDs and Plasmas are dropping very fast. I have seen 42 inch Samsung, and Sharp LCDs at $1000 - $1300. Sonys tend to be a little higher at about $1500. These where all 720Ps.
The last 1080P LCD I looked at was at Bestbuy for $1800 and was a 42inch. 1080P looks great when you find something that plays at that high a signal but I dicided to wait till the price of 1080P came down abit. 720P looks great and the extra cost to go to 1080P was not worth it in my opinion.
I only Checked out name brand TVs (Sharp, Sony Samsung, HP and Toshiba). It is possible to find cheaper LCD TV but I don't if they are of good quality.
i believe plasma hafta get serviced after like 5-10 years, something with the plasma, might wanna check into. i am extrememly happy with a 42" LCD HD TV, get the s-video cable for your dvd player for the HD tv.
