The Direct TV box was hooked up to a tv. I have recently bought a new tv and hooked it up to the DTV box. The problem is that whenever i want to turn on my tv, it only turns on the DTV box and not the tv. I didn't have that trouble with my old TV. Is there any way to set up the DTV settings so that when i open my tv, it opens both the DTV box and the tv?

You have to program your DTV remote to operate your tv.If you still have the manual for DTV then go to the section where you can "program your remote". In there you will find codes for different brands of tv's. Find your brand-( ex.RCA or JVC or whatever model you have) & by using their procedure you will enter the code for your brand of tv. On your DTV remote you will be using the "tv" button which lights up on top & your #'s keys.
