Cable or satelite tv or verizon fiaos?
Answer:
comcast high speed internet, digital voice, and expanded basic cable w/ an extra box in the bedroom runs me about $140.00/mo... I've never had any problems
Well the Verizon Fios is fiber optic which is far superior to copper cable in quality, security, and stability but Verizon is still working out the deals with Tv stations, etc. Satellite is great but weather affected and hence can get annoying. Cable is cheap+easy but the worst quality and prices keep raising as well as cable being the worst stable+secure mode of the 3.
sum up
Cable: cheap, easy, not secure, outmoded and hard to upgrade..cable companies have bad history of customer service
Fios: state of the art fiber optics that give you fast internet, phone and quality TV. Still new so still kinks I am sure and TV is not promised depending on area and if Verizon got Licenses.
Sat: Secure, fast, reliable but weather+clouds can screw you all up
well, if you go with optimum online, or i/o digital cable, or fios you'll have the option of gettin all of your communication services (TV, phone service, high speed internet) from one company. This is not an option should you decide to go with Directv or dish network.
I'm currently a directv subscriber, and have been since the company's inception way back in 1995. I have nothing but praise for directv and how they treat their customers. Every time I've had to make a service call the service techincians were always on time, and have never kept me waiting.
As far as services go, cable and fios will give you access to features like ondemand, where you can have access to a large variety of programs that you can view at your leisure. In my opinion, however, this hadrly makes up for the way cablevision treats their customers. Remember when they refused to carry the yes network even when the majority of their customers were demanding it?
Now, I haven't exactly researched this extensively, but I've heard that the internet service from verizon fios is supposedly faster than cable modem service from cablevision or time warner.
I guess my point is this, if all of the services are about the same (and I'm not saying that they are) then what separates the companies is how well they treat you. You've got to make your own decision about this, but in my experience, directv is the company to go with.
