The dark parts of the screen are so dark, you cant even see anything but black. Any help would be appreciated.

You need Digital Cable or Direct TV
If you are using the anntena you need to find Digital TV stations or HDTV stations.
Analog TV will look like any $80 set.
DTV (digital TV, be it broadcast, cable or direct tv) either WORKS PERFECTLY or is "no signal found"
That's the thing with Digital. It either WORKS or it don't.
ANALOG works the same on a $5,000 set as it does on a $80 set.
The solution is a better anntena on your roof.
